Hollinger Metal Edge, Inc. also carries the best quality folders, envelopes, sleeves dividers, etc. to isolate and organize your treasured items for storage in Hollinger boxes.

Store your archival boxes in a relatively stable environment where temperature and humidity do not vary significantly. A bedroom or hall closet is a better choice than a basement or attic. Use an archival Kaiser-Schreiber pen to mark on boxes, envelopes, sleeves, etc. for identification.

Polypropylene Sleeves and Pages
Using inert polypropylene binder pages stored in an archival binder album is an excellent choice for documents, photographs, collectible cards, stamps, coins, buttons, badges, postcards or any flat item which is legal size (8.5” x 14”) or smaller. The polypropylene pages provide excellent archival protection while allowing the items to be viewed without being removed from their enclosure. The archival binder or binder box will safely hold the pages where they will be protected from light and easily accessible. Hollinger Metal Edge, Inc. carries archival pages with more than a dozen different pocket sizes ranging from 2” x 2” up to 8.5” x 14”.

For items too large to be stored in binders, we carry a number of polypropylene sleeves and envelopes up to a 16” x 20” size. Items can be stored in these enclosures and placed in archival boxes.  Our Kaiser-Schreiber archival pen can be used to permanently mark on polypropylene and polyester film for identification without smearing.

Polyester Film Products
Although more costly than polypropylene, archival polyester (DuPont Melinex 516) also has significantly greater stiffness and density which makes it a better choice for interleaving and lining shelves and drawers. Because polyester can be cut and sealed in relatively small quantities, we are able to carry sleeves and envelopes in a large variety of sizes (ranging from 3” x 4” up to 36” x 48”), and also manufacture custom sizes to fit the specific needs of our customers.  Archival polyester is available in sheets and rolls for customers who wish to cut their own interleaving sheets, shelf liners, polyester folders, etc. Archival polyester can easily be cut with a razor knife or paper cutter.

Archival Tissue Paper
Our tissue paper is available in sheets and rolls that can easily be cut to size for specific uses. Items ranging in size from buttons to large quilts can be wrapped in archival tissue for added protection while stored in archival boxes.
One of the principle uses of archival tissue is for textile storage. Tissue can be stuffed inside gowns, placed in fabric folds, and wrapped around the entire item for additional protection during storage.  Buffered tissue is used for the storage of most items. Unbuffered tissue is used in storage of silks, wool, leather, fur, feathers and bones.

Inert Polypropylene Storage Boxes
Our polypropylene archaeological box with partition inserts can provide safe archival storage for a large variety of collectibles and artifacts. The interior of this box measures 16.25” long x 16.25” wide x 6” high, and the divider partitions can be used to divide the box into many different compartmental configurations utilizing sections which can measure 16” x 16”, 16” x 12”, 16” x 8”, 16” x 4”, 12” x 8”, 12” x 4”, 8” x 8”, 8” x 4” and 4” x 4”.  The inert corrugated polypropylene material can be dusted, washed and reused without suffering any damage.
We also carry large polypropylene textile boxes and the standard 15” x 12” x 10” records storage box made with polypropylene board. We can custom manufacture inert corrugated polypropylene boxes to meet your specific requirements.
