Description

The Archival Cylinder Box (ACB) was originally developed by the Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) under contract with the Library of Congress.

The Archival Cylinder Box is a high quality, safe housing unit for the long-term storage of historical cylinder recordings.  Manufactured specifically for Wax Cylinders and will protect every type of standard 4-inch cylinder.

The Archival Cylinder Box body and top are injection molded Polycarbonate Lexan 940A-116, a stable, inert, and flame-retardant plastic resin rated UL-94 V0. The foam cushions are BF-1000 silicone foam, formulated for soft and lasting cushion and die cut to +/- .032-inch tolerances.

The unit is designed to allow air to circulate, and off gasses to ventilate, keeping the recorded surface healthy.  The peg inside the cylinder secures the cylinder, protecting the recorded surface against abrasion or accidental scraping.

The Archival Cylinder Box measures 5 inches in height by 2 5/8-inch-wide circumference.

Product is one complete unit.  Parts are not sold separately.  Price is per each.
