Our History
The Hollinger Company, founded in 1945 by William Hollinger in Arlington, Virginia, began its journey by collaborating with officials at The Library of Congress and the National Archives. Together, they developed acid-free papers, storage boxes, and envelopes that set the standard for the proper preservation of documents and photographs.
Metal Edge Incorporated was established in 1996 by Bob Henderson and the late Larry Gates in Los Angeles, California. Metal Edge quickly emerged as a leading manufacturer of archival materials. After years of successful collaboration between Metal Edge and The Hollinger Company, the two companies merged in 2008 under the leadership of Bob Henderson, forming Hollinger Metal Edge.
Since its inception, Hollinger Metal Edge has continuously introduced innovative archival products designed to preserve materials, photos, artifacts, textiles, books, and important documents. Today, the company operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with additional offices in California. Hollinger Metal Edge, Inc. remains the industry leader in archival products, museum displays, and conservation supplies.
