Create lightweight, cost-effective mounts for costumes and more

FOSSHAPE® is a unique nonwoven felt-like fabric comprised of a low melt synthetic polyester fiber that, when exposed to varying degrees of heat and pressure, can be molded to create a multitude of shaped items. It is most useful in forming lightweight, three-dimensional customized structures for holding costumes, hats, wigs, light armor and more. The product, when applied with wet or dry heat, shrinks about 25% and can be easily shaped over a form; it retains its shape once cooled. Tools most often used are an industrial heat gun (sold separately, see below), costume steamer and conventional steam iron.

FOSSHAPE® is durable for indoor or outdoor use, extremely lightweight and breathable.  Saves valuable time and labor during the construction process, since no messy additives or drying/setup time required.  It is not affected by humid conditions or water, is mold and mildew resistant, and has passed the Oddy test.

Available 45 in. wide, in two lengths and two grades. FOSSHAPE® 300 is the medium grade, which weights 9.0 oz/yd2 (300 grams per sq/meter) with a thickness of about .15 in. (about 4mm) in the non-activated state. FOSSHAPE® 600 is a heavier grade, which weights 18.0 oz/yd2 (600 grams per sq/meter) with a thickness of about .25 in. (about 6.5 mm) in the non-activated state.
